FIPFA Congress

The Congress serves as a fundamental event in the FIPFA calendar. Held annually, it provides a structured platform for all member nations to come together, facilitating vital decision-making processes that shape the future of Powerchair Football. More than just a formal meeting, the Congress reflects the collective will and aspirations of the global Powerchair Football community.

Primary Objectives:

  1. Constitutional Amendments: One of the foremost agendas in any Congress is to revisit the Constitution of FIPFA. Members propose modifications, debate their implications, and eventually vote on these amendments. This continuous process ensures that the Constitution remains relevant, dynamic, and representative of the evolving needs of the sport and its stakeholders.

  2. Election of Board Officers: Leadership is critical for the direction and management of FIPFA. The Congress offers a democratic space where candidates present their vision and credentials for various official positions. Following deliberations, members cast their votes to elect the Board officers, entrusting them with the responsibility to lead with integrity and vision.

  3. Information Dissemination: Knowledge sharing is a vital aspect of the Congress. It’s an opportunity for members to be updated on the latest developments, best practices, challenges, and opportunities in the world of Powerchair Football. This dissemination of information ensures that all member nations are aligned, informed, and equipped to promote the sport in their respective regions.

Invited Members to the Congress:

Every member nation of FIPFA receives an invitation to the Congress. The list of invitees usually includes, but is not limited to:

  1. National Federation Representatives: These are official representatives from each member nation’s Powerchair Football governing body. They voice the interests, concerns, and suggestions of their respective countries.

  2. Board Members of FIPFA: Those who are already holding positions on the board attend to present reports, share insights, and participate in deliberations.

  3. Committee Chairs and Members: Individuals heading various committees or sub-committees within FIPFA, be it related to rules, promotions, development, or any other facet of the sport, are crucial participants.

  4. Special Invitees: Occasionally, experts, consultants, or representatives from allied sports or organizations may be invited to provide insights, share best practices, or foster collaborative opportunities.

  5. Sponsors and Partners: Key stakeholders who have supported or partnered with FIPFA might be invited to understand the sport’s direction and explore continued collaborations.

  6. Past Office Holders: Former leaders or key contributors to FIPFA and the sport may be invited for their wisdom, experience, and continued guidance.
