World Rankings
๐ How the FIPFA World Rankings Work
The FIPFA World Rankings use a simple, points-based system to reflect performance at the sportโs most important international competitions. Rankings reward success at the highest level while ensuring fairness and global representation.
๐ World Cup
The highest-weighted competition
๐ Maximum points: 1,000
๐ Points awarded: 100-point steps per finishing position
The World Cup carries the greatest weighting due to its global reach and competitive depth. The tournament winner receives the maximum points, with points decreasing for each subsequent place.
๐ Zone Events
Continental & Regional competitions
๐ Maximum points: 500 (based on 10 teams)
๐ Points awarded: 50-point steps per finishing position
โ๏ธ Pro-rated where fewer than 10 teams compete
Zone Events ensure global participation and development, with points adjusted to maintain fairness across regions.
๐งฎ Overall Rankings
How totals are calculated
๐ Points earned across all eligible competitions are added together
๐ The combined total determines a nationโs position in the FIPFA World Rankings
This approach ensures the rankings reflect competitive success, depth, and sustained performance at international level.
