FIPFA Executive Council

The Executive Council of the Fédération Internationale de Powerchair Football Association (FIPFA) is a body that strives to establish a professional and productive organisational structure for the betterment of Powerchair Football around the globe. They are tasked with the responsibility of overseeing the global development and management of the sport. This responsibility extends to areas such as competition organisation, rule enforcement, athlete development, and global promotion of the sport.

The Executive Council, or ExCo, is composed of several key individuals and roles. This includes the Board, Zone Presidents, the Secretary General, as well as other individuals who may be invited based on need and the particular expertise they can bring to the table.

The Board is a crucial component of the ExCo. It’s comprised of elected officers who each serve a 4-year term, ensuring a degree of continuity in the leadership while also allowing for new ideas and perspectives to guide the federation’s actions and decisions. The roles within the Board are:

  • The President, who acts as the principal executive officer. They provide overarching leadership and direction, ensuring alignment with FIPFA’s mission and vision.
  • The Vice President, who supports the President in their duties and stands in for them when necessary. They may also have specific responsibilities depending on the needs of the organization.
  • The Treasurer, who is responsible for overseeing the financial management of the organization. This includes managing budgets, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and helping to guide the financial strategy of FIPFA.
  • The Director of Sport, who is tasked with overseeing the sporting aspects of Powerchair Football within FIPFA. This includes competition structures, rule enforcement, and athlete development programs. They play a key role in maintaining the sport’s integrity and promoting its growth globally.
  • The Zone Presidents represent the different geographical zones within FIPFA’s purview, ensuring that the unique needs and interests of Powerchair Football communities in different parts of the world are represented.
  • The Secretary General provides a vital role in managing the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring effective communication within the ExCo and with the broader Powerchair Football community.

By establishing this structure, FIPFA aims to deliver an effective and professional organization dedicated to the growth and success of Powerchair Football worldwide.
