Anti Doping
FIPFA is a proud associate of the Paralympic Movement. We resonate with the International Paralympic Committee’s ethos of fostering a ‘clean, fair, and competitive sports environment for athletes’. We stand unified in the pursuit of recognizing and nurturing human excellence by polishing the innate talents of each individual. This commitment to fairness and the sanctity of sport has led FIPFA to adopt a stringent anti-doping policy.
Why Anti-Doping Rules Matter: True sportsmanship is defined by competing under a universal set of rules that ensure a level playing field. It is the foundation upon which the essence of sports rests, where the outcome hinges solely on an individual’s or team’s skill, aptitude, and unwavering dedication. When athletes partake in doping, they not only jeopardize their health but distort the very core values of the sport, creating an unequal and unjust competitive environment.
Our anti-doping policies are firmly rooted in these principles. FIPFA is dedicated to safeguarding the intrinsic right of each player to compete in an environment devoid of performance-enhancing drugs. This policy acts as a beacon, guiding us towards promoting the well-being, fairness, and equity of players on a global scale.
WADA & The World Anti-Doping Code: The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is the globally recognized authority on anti-doping matters. Formed as a collaboration between public entities and the sports community, WADA’s mission is to lead the fight against doping, ensuring that sports remain a true reflection of talent and dedication. You can find more about their initiatives at WADA’s ADEL Learning Platform.
A pivotal component of WADA’s endeavours is the World Anti-Doping Code, which acts as the universal guideline for anti-doping rules. It’s a testament to the importance of uniformity in treatment, ensuring that every athlete, regardless of their sport, faces the same anti-doping regulations.
In alignment with this global standard, FIPFA’s anti-doping policies and rules are moulded by the principles of the World Anti-Doping Code, strengthening our commitment to a clean and fair sporting environment.
