FIPFA Vice President Appointment

It is our pleasure to announce FIPFA​’s newly appointed​ Vice President. After a rigorous search and selection process, we’re delighted to announce the appointment of​ Alex Reilly​ ​to this position, effective immediately.

Alex has been a long-standing member of our community and has contributed significantly to the development and growth of powerchair football. With over ten ​years​ of experience in footballing roles at Sydney FC and Fulham Football Club and six years of non-executive board experience, Alex brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to this position, and we are confident ​he will be a valuable addition to our Executive Council.

As Vice President, Alex will work closely with the President and Executive Council to oversee and drive forward the strategic direction of FIPFA. ​

Talking about his recent appointment, Alex said: ​”I am absolutely delighted to be joining FIPFA as Vice President. I would like to thank Ricky and the FIPFA Board for this opportunity, and I cannot wait to get started and support the sport as we quickly approach the World Cup here in Australia. I am also looking forward to working with our Zones and member nations to continue to grow this incredible sport, increasing access at all levels of participation and continuing to improve the sports infrastructure at national and international levels.”

FIPFA President, Ricky Stevenson said: “I am thrilled to welcome Alex to our Executive Council as Vice President. Alex has been a valued member of our community for many years, and I am confident that his skills, experience, and passion for our mission will be a great asset to FIPFA. I look forward to working together to drive forward our strategic goals and ensure that we continue to provide valuable support to our members around the world.”

As the Vice President of FIPFA, Alex’s role and responsibilities may include:

  1. Supporting the FIPFA President: Working closely with the President to help them carry out their duties effectively. This may involve taking on some of their responsibilities when they are unavailable or assisting them in making key decisions.
  2. Representing FIPFA: Represent FIPFA at various events, conferences, and meetings. This includes promoting the sport of powerchair football and advocating for FIPFA’s interests.
  3. Developing strategies: Helping develop strategies to grow and promote the sport of powerchair football globally. This may involve identifying new markets, building partnerships with other organisations, and developing initiatives to increase participation in the sport.
  4. Building relationships: Alex will work to build relationships with key stakeholders, including Zones, Members, Coaches, Officials, and Sponsors. This involves fostering positive relationships with these groups and working to address any concerns they may have.
  5. Governance and compliance: Assisting the President in ensuring that FIPFA operates in compliance with relevant regulations and laws. They will also assist in developing and implementing governance policies and procedures.
