Anti Doping Education
One of the key principles of the World Anti-Doping Program is that an Athlete’s first experience with anti-doping should be through Education.
Education here means the “process of learning to instil values and develop behaviours that foster and protect the spirit of sport, and to prevent intentional and unintentional doping”.
The core purpose of FIPFA’s anti-doping program is to prevent doping happening. FIPFA does this through:
-
Values-based Education: FIPFA will help players and their support persons to develop personal values and principles so that decisions can be made ethically and responsibly.
-
Information: FIPFA will provide players and their support persons with information and accurate, up to date content related to clean sport.
-
Anti-Doping Education: FIPFA will provide players and their support persons with training on anti-doping topics to build competence in clean sport behaviours and make informed decisions.
FIPFA’s approach to Education is based on these principles:
- All players should want to start and stay clean throughout their careers, and Education should support this goal.
- International standard players must receive Education before representing their country.
- Educational programs will be adapted to the cultural and sporting contexts in which they are located.
- Education is a collaborative exercise and FIPFA will look to work with other sport and anti-doping organisations to constantly improve its anti-doping work.
- FIPFA’s Education program will comply with the standards set by the World Anti-Doping Program
