FIPFA Board of Trustees

The governance of the Fédération Internationale de Powerchair Football Association (FIPFA) is delivered through its status as a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). This structure reinforces FIPFA’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and strong governance, supporting the continued global growth of Powerchair Football.

FIPFA is overseen by a Board of Trustees, who are collectively responsible for the strategic direction, governance, and long-term sustainability of the organisation. The Board works to ensure that FIPFA operates effectively and in line with its charitable objectives, while continuing to drive the development and promotion of Powerchair Football worldwide.

The Board of Trustees is made up of key leadership roles, alongside additional Trustees who bring valuable expertise across areas such as governance, partnerships, finance, and athlete representation. This structure retains the core leadership positions previously held within the Executive Council, while expanding to include a broader range of skills and perspectives.

The core roles within the Board of Trustees include:

President – Acts as the principal leader of the organisation, providing strategic direction and ensuring alignment with FIPFA’s mission and vision.

Vice President – Supports the President and may take on specific strategic responsibilities, deputising when required.

Treasurer – Oversees the financial management of FIPFA, including budgeting, financial reporting, and long-term financial planning.

Director of Sport – Leads on the sporting development of Powerchair Football, including competition structures, rules, and athlete pathways, ensuring the integrity and growth of the sport globally.

Secretary General – Responsible for the operational delivery of FIPFA’s activities, supporting effective communication and coordination across the organisation.

Zone Presidents – Represent FIPFA’s geographical regions, ensuring that the voices and needs of member nations across all zones are reflected in decision-making.

In addition to these roles, FIPFA has introduced further Trustee positions to strengthen its governance and broaden its expertise in key areas such as legal and governance, partnerships, and player representation.

Through this evolved structure, FIPFA continues to build a professional, inclusive, and forward-thinking organisation, dedicated to the sustainable growth and global success of Powerchair Football.
