Powerchair Football started in Northern Ireland in 2007 with one club (Belfast Trailblazers). They entered 2 teams into the AIPF League (Association of Irish Powerchair Football). In 2010 another club was formed – Lisburn Lightning.
They too entered the AIPF League with 2 teams. In 2017 we had 2 additional clubs formed – Devenish Warriors (Enniskillen) and Hot Wheels (Dungannon).
PARTICIPATIONS IN INTERNATIONAL EVENTS AND RESULTS

POWERCHAIR FOOTBALL COMPETITION IN NORTHERN IRELAND
We now have 4 clubs with approximately 30 players training and playing on a weekly basis.
The Irish Football Association formed a Northern Ireland Squad in 2017. We played in the EPFA Home Nations Event in Kent, England in 2017. Losing 4-0 to England and beating the Republic of Ireland 2-1.
The aim is to compete in another Home Nations Event in 2018 and potentially enter the International competition pathway through FIPFA from 2019. We hope all 4 of our clubs with a minimum of 8 teams will be playing in either the AIPF League by 2020 or our own domestic league.
