Powerchair Football players and volunteers from 2 provinces in Canada, Quebec and British Columbia, came together for a meeting from October 24 – 26, 2008, to start the historic process of establishing a constitution for “Powerchair Football Canada”. The first step was selecting this new name that could easily translate into English and French, the two official languages of Canada.
Special guests included Herve Delattre, President of FIPFA; Jonathan Newman, President of the Zone of the Americas for FIPFA; Jo-Ann Arvey, Executive Director of CP Sports of Quebec; and Terrie Moore, Executive Director of CP Sports of BC.
Four powerchair football players attended, two of whom volunteered to help with website development and communication. Plans are being made for a National Tournament in 2009 and for sending a national team to the next FIPFA World Cup.
