BRAZIL

AMERICAS ZONE

Powerchair Football arrived in Brazil in 2011 after a conversation between friends (First President Ricardo Gonzalez and Current President Marcos Antonio Santos). Both identified the lack of a modality that fully contemplates people with tetraplegia and equivalent deficiencies in Brazil.

Starting a search for something of the sort that people found playing Power Soccer in the USA. From there we got in touch with the organizers and through the invitation of David Ruelas and Jerome Duran, we watched a championship in Atlanta, where we met the current President of FIPFA (Hervé Delattre).

We have returned from Atlanta affiliated with the mission of being the entity responsible for the creation and full development of the modality in the national territory, offering unrestricted support to the associated clubs, and enabling people with severe disabilities, of both sexes and all ages, to perform this High-level sports practice, thus contributing to social inclusion.

In addition to promoting and developing the sport, not only in Brazil but also throughout Latin America, where we have become pioneers.
